See more about 'Exquisite Blush Mink Fur Coat Hooded Cape Size XL-XXXL' Description GORGEOUS BLUSH MINK FUR HOODED CAPE This cape is stop-you-in-your-tracks gorgeous! A dear friend of mine has decided to part with this beautiful cape when she moved to a warm climate and no longer used it. She bought it 20 years ago and paid $38,000. I am not a fur expert, but will do my absolute best to describe it to do it justice. It is made from exclusively female full pelts, and lined in satin. The hood is fur-lined, so it is as lovely draped over your head as it is elegantly resting off the head. The hood can be folded back slightly to frame the face, or fully extended for maximum warmth. The arm slits on the front measure approximately 13" long. There are four hidden closure hooks. The cape measures approximately 49" in length from the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the cape. Due to the nature of the cape, it is almost a one-size-fits-all. The woman who had this made was a size 22. It has a generous forgiving fit, so it would look equally beautiful on someone smaller or larger. I laid the cape flat on the floor, and it measured 34" across the middle, so that would be a total circumference of 68" and of course it continues to be larger towards the bottom. Seasonally, it has been in cold storage. The fur is soft and beautiful. The owner's name is embroidered on the inside right, and there is a hidden pocket on the inside as well. One inside tag reads "Pam Mahoney, Designer Furrier of Dallas" and another one reads "Melba's Boutique, Austin". There are some tiny imperfections as one might expect in a coat 20 years old. On the inside, there are a couple of tiny seams that have come undone. The new owner may decide to take two minutes to fix this, or leave it as is since it does not affect the integrity of the coat. Interesting side note: The owner tells me she wore this in New York to a lingerie fashion show in the 1980's. Bob Mackie saw it and fell in love with it. Inspired, he then duplicated the style in a dark fur and called it his "Dr. Zhivago" coat and used it in future shows. The small print...
